Saturday 10 June at 17.30 pm in the Palatine Chapel.
On June 10, “Music in the Time of Vanvitelli” returns, an initiative of the call for participatory valorization of the Royal Palace of Caserta, created by the Caserta Chamber Orchestra.
After its debut on May 20, the project “Music in the Time of Vanvitelli”, created by the orchestra conducted by Antonino Cascio, continues on Saturday, June 10 at 17.30:XNUMX pm in the Cappella Palatina, with the participation, as a guest soloist, of the bassoonist Paolo Carlini. The program includes pieces by Neapolitan and transalpine authors inspired by the Vanvitelli Celebrations.
For the occasion, the Overture from Domenico Cimarosa's opera L'Italiana in Londra will be performed; Haydn's Symphony No. 83, "La Poule"; and Mozart's Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra, K. 191. The latter is a virtuosic piece whose final Rondo is crafted with a "regulated variety" that harks back to what Vanvitelli had discovered in French music, particularly that of Johann Christian Bach.
“…It is worth confessing that music is no longer exclusive to Italy.

The idea for this project was inspired, in fact, by what Luigi Vanvitelli himself understood on the occasion of the performance at the Teatro di San Carlo of the opera Alexander in the Indies by Johann Christian Bach. The great architect perceived the new course of European music and the distinctive elements that would characterize it later.
Participation in this initiative is included in the standard price of the Museum entrance ticket/membership. "Evening Apartments" tickets starting at 17 pm cost €3. Last admission to the Royal Apartments is at 18.15:XNUMX pm.
Free and reduced tickets remain valid as per law. Tickets for the Royal Palace of Caserta, limited by numbers and time slots, are on sale at TicketOne or at the ticket office in Piazza Carlo di Borbone.
The Project, chosen by the Scientific Committee as part of the enhancement plan of the Royal Palace of Caserta, benefits from the support of the MIC and the Campania Region.
A preview of the event will be held on Friday 9 June (20.30:83 pm) in Aversa, in the Church of SS. Trinità (S. Audeno), where the Caserta Chamber Orchestra conducted by Antonino Cascio and Paolo Carlini on bassoon will perform the Overture from the opera L'Italiana in Londra by Domenico Cimarosa; Symphony No. 191 La Poule by Haydn; the concerto for bassoon and orchestra KV XNUMX by Mozart with the inaugural lecture “Musicisti aversani al tempo di Vanvitelli” by the journalist and writer Nicola De Chiara.
