On the opening day, a further work will be unveiled that enriches the cycle of drawings on display in Naples
The Royal Palace of Naples hosts the exhibition of the artist Mimmo Paladino (Paduli, 1948) dedicated to Pulcinella, curated by Flavio Arensi, from 6 July to 3 October 2023.
The 104 drawings made over thirty years ago by the artist from Campania, who was inspired by the album Divertimenti per li regazzi (1797) by Giandomenico Tiepolo, will be exhibited in the Genovese Gallery. A tribute by Paladino to the eighteenth-century Venetian masterpiece made up of 104 dedicated cards illustrating the adventures, death and resurrection of Pulcinella.
Through the recently restored drawings of Mimmo Paladino, Pulcinella, on the other hand, conducts a risky showdown with drawing and art history, which he resolves to appropriate both of them and mockingly beat them.
At the Royal Palace of Naples, the cycle is enriched by a new extraordinary element: a new one will be added to the 104 drawings, a real surprise for everyone which will be unveiled on the day of the inauguration.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 14.00 pm on July 6th.
