The investigating judge Michel Claise appeared this morning, accompanied by some plainclothes officers, at the offices of the MEPs under investigation Andrea Cozzolino and Marc Tarabella.According to internal sources, the action should lead to the revocation of the seals for Tarabella – released on May 9th after 3 months of preventive detention – while investigators are interrogating Cozzolino's collaborators, under house arrest since February. At the end of the searches, according to what has been learned, the investigating judge ordered the removal of the seals from the office of MEP Marc Tarabella.
Following his release – which took place in early May under the conditions of responding to all police summonses, not leaving the territory without prior agreement with the authorities, and not coming into contact with the people involved in the case – the Socialist politician returned to political activity in the European Parliament on 24 May, first taking part in a meeting of the Fisheries Committee, of which he is a member, and then in the plenary session of the European Parliament held last week.
“From today,” sources in his entourage reported after the removal of the seals, “we can return to working at full capacity.”
