As part of the measure to combat ticket touting, undertaken on the occasion of the last match of the SSC Serie A championship Napoli, the financiers of the Provincial Command of Napoli contributed to the withdrawal of approximately 250 tickets to access the stadium, as they were registered to different individuals than those who showed up at the checkpoints. Over fifty soldiers were employed by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Finance Guard di Napoli who, in addition to the personnel of the Corps on public order duty and supporting the checks already arranged by the football club, have manned the 25 access points to the sports facility.
The activity in question stems from an in-depth analysis of the context, also carried out through the observation of the multiple online platforms and the main social networks, through which numerous proposals were made to resell - at prices more than doubled - the "precious" tickets to attend the last home match and the subsequent award ceremony on the field of the Italian champion team. The deterrent effect of the surveillance device adopted was also significant, given that numerous individuals queuing for access left the area, thus avoiding showing a non-compliant ticket.
The service operation is in line with recent investigations by the Corps, still underway, which have brought to light an alarming phenomenon of resale of Tickets fraudulently altered, relating to the SSSC Napoli matches played at the “Diego Armando Maradona” stadium, with the complicity of betting shops in Naples and the province. The service activity demonstrates the constant commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in combating the phenomena of ticket scalping and so-called secondary ticketing, which damage the entertainment industry, profiting unduly from the passion of numerous users who, driven by the favorable sporting events of their favorite team, also make themselves available for large outlays.
