"Andrea Cozzolino is free. The investigating judge, after completing the questioning that began Monday, during which the MEP answered all questions, punctually contesting all the charges, has ordered his release."
The lawyers have announced it Federico Conte, Dezio Ferraro and Dimitri De Beco, defenders of the MEP. "The measure," they add, "includes some standard requirements, such as not having contact with the other suspects and having to communicate his movements from Belgium in advance."
After a long eight-hour interrogation yesterday with the judicial police, Cozzolino was heard today by investigating judge Aurélie Dejaiffe, as required by Belgian criminal procedure. The prosecutor, who took over the investigation yesterday from magistrate Michel Claise, then decided to release him.
