Yesterday evening was a night of total chaos at theairport di Budapest. A hundred of fans of Roma, back in Italy, still furious about the wrongs suffered in the final di Europa League lost on penalties against Seville, they met thereferee of Partita, the English Anthony Taylor, about to return to Britain.
As soon as he was recognized, chants, whistles and insults began to arrive, but above all spitting and even objects were thrown at the referee for some decisions that also infuriated José Mourinho yesterday evening. There are many videos of fans on social media that portray these moments of tension at the Hungarian airport.
The referee Taylor was protected by a buffer stock di seven agents when some Giallorossi fans also tried to throw plastic water glasses and a chair, without hitting anyone. The referee's family was also present, visibly shocked by what had happened: the daughter was in fact in tears in front of the disgusting scene.
Mourinho and the insult to referee Taylor: "You are a disgrace"
Already in the post-match Mourinho he had spoken of the referee as if he were a Spaniard. Then, after he had taken off his medal on the pitch in a polemical manner after the award ceremony, in the interview area and later in the garage of the Puskas Arena, there was a very tough close encounter between the two.
In the video, filmed in the underground parking area of the stadium, writes the Sky Sport website, Mourinho can be seen – having noticed the presence of the referee team – addressing the English referee, addressing him heavily in his own language: “You're a fucking disgrace, man!”, which translated means: “You’re a f…ing disgrace!”
He repeats it twice, seems to go away but then thinks better of it, turns around and adds: “And Rosetti (UEFA designator, ed.) was he able to say that it is not? And were you able to?”. And again, approaching the van where all the referees are getting in: “Congratulations also to (unintelligible word) of the VAR and to all of you. Congratulations!”. And then as he walks away: “Don’t they even have shame on their faces?”
