At least twenty people, hooded, stationed on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in the heart of Avellino, they blocked cars and motorbikes on board which the fans of the Napoli, late in the evening of May 4th, were celebrating the championship won in Udine. They violently tore flags and banners from the Neapolitan fans and damaged their cars with poles.

They didn't stop there: they also threatened families with children who were walking on the main street of the city, making them hand over the flags of the new Italian champions. A little over two months after the events, the investigations of the Digos of the Avellino Police Headquarters, coordinated by the chief prosecutor Domenico Airoma, focused their investigations on nine people, all belonging to the organised fans of the Curva Sud of theAvellino, whose homes and cars have been searched since the early hours of this morning in search of further evidence that has been acquired in the meantime.

Among the suspects are also fans who have already been reported to the judicial authorities and subjected to Daspo for illicit conduct committed in the sports field. Their identification was also achieved thanks to the invaluable help of the images from the public and private video surveillance cameras present in the area that documented the various phases of the aggression and from the testimonies of the people attacked.

The nine Ultras from Avellino are seriously suspected of public intimidation, private violence, robbery and damage. Further investigative and judicial developments are expected in the next few hours.
