Soldiers belonging to the Forestry Carabinieri Station of Caserta, following a report received on the public utility number "1515", they went to an agricultural land located in the municipality of Cancello ed Arnone (CE), with access from Provincial Road No. 333, where they ascertained the presence of a large pile of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste dumped directly on the ground.
On site, the technicians of the ARPAC of the Provincial Department of Caserta who proceeded to characterize the aforementioned waste as follows:
agrochemical waste containing hazardous substances with EER code 020108*;
special waste consisting of mixed non-hazardous material packaging with EER code 150106.
The investigations by the judicial police allowed them to trace the perpetrator of the illegal conduct, as well as the vehicle used to transport the aforementioned waste, namely a tractor equipped with a trolley.
The aforementioned military personnel, having identified that the situation created constituted the crime of illicit management of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, proceeded with the preventive seizure of the area and of the large pile of the aforementioned waste composed of containers of different capacities (disused plastic cans) which previously contained liquid chemical substances, composed of fungicides, pesticides and liquid fertilizers, used in agriculture.
The person responsible was handed over to the Judicial Authority in a state of freedom.
This activity is one of those carried out for the purpose of deterring the phenomenon of waste abandonment and burning and of concretely contrasting the harmful consequences of the phenomenon.
