The 100-meter ship has arrived in Castellammare Christina O, one of the first largest and most luxurious megayachts in the world, owned by Aristotle Onassis.
An appointment for the Castellammare di Stabia port, which has also hosted it in past years and yet another sign of a tourist season which promises to be full of surprises and which, according to forecasts, should see double the number of luxury cruises compared to last year.
”Thanks to the Esposito brothers and the Luise Group shipping agency, who believed in this project and wanted to give the city a chance, we are managing to strengthen the Stabia tourist brand in the world of international yachting – illustrates Luisa DelSorbo, manager of Stabia Main Port – we are receiving amazing bookings: the 94-metre Viva, the 110-metre Bravo Eugenia, the 85-metre Sunrays, international sailing yachts, owners from all over the world.
We now work 98% with foreign-flagged superyachts that arrive at Stabia Main Port and visit the city”. According to data provided by the maritime port, several hundred tourists are in fact arriving at the Bourbon port of Castellammare: from large yachts to boats from the historic dealers of the old port who boast over 700 berths.
And traders are organizing meetings to improve the tourist offering. ”Castellammare di Stabia is a shining example of how the yachting sector can generate economics – comments Ottavio Luise, young manager of the Luise Group – Each yacht produces from one to five work units; each ship brings to the territory a turnover of ten thousand euros or more.
Castellammare di Stabia, once a depressed economic zone, thanks to the planning implemented over the last six years, is now a point of reference for the large yacht industry”.
