LThe Campania Region Civil Protection has issued a weather alert for strong winds and rough seas throughout the region.
Starting from 20:20 PM today until XNUMX:XNUMX PM tomorrow, locally strong winds are expected from the western quadrants. Locally rough sea, especially along the coasts exposed to the winds. The coastal sector is the one most exposed to the phenomena.
It is recommended to pay attention to umbrellas, gazebos and temporary structures. The mayors and competent authorities are called upon to activate in their respective territories “all measures aimed at preventing, mitigating and countering the expected phenomena: maximum caution for vessels and people present, even during the night hours, in port areas and on coasts exposed to the west”.
Attention is also drawn to the risk of fire propagation due to strong winds that may be a contributing factor to the spread. In particular, a high risk of fires is reported in inaccessible coastal areas. Similar phenomena could occur in pine forests exposed to the west and near the sea.
It is recommended “to monitor the correct maintenance of public green areas and structures (even temporary or mobile) exposed to the stress of winds and wave motion (including bathing equipment, scaffolding, road signs) but also to monitor the territory for the prevention of fire risk.”
