It was 19.30pm yesterday when a 23-year-old with a swollen face and scratches on her neck knocked on the intercom of the Teverola Carabinieri station.
The woman immediately told the policeman who opened the door that she had just been slapped by her husband in the presence of their youngest daughter and that the attack had occurred inside their car while they were parked in the nearby central square of the Municipality of Casaluce.
The victim then specified that he still managed to escape on foot and reach the Station Headquarters.
According to what was later formalized by the woman with the complaint, the discussion arose following yet another attempt to get her husband to stop drinking alcohol and/or taking drugs, adding that he had suffered similar attacks in the past for the same reasons, never reported in the hope of being able to help him.
The man, a 29-year-old from Gricignano d'Aversa, was arrested and placed under house arrest.
