80 years after the birth of one of the most beloved icons of Italian television, the cinema celebrates Raffaella Carrà (18 June 1943 - 5 July 2021) and her phenomenal career with RAFFA, the film directed by Daniele Luchetti written by Cristiana Farina with Carlo Altinier, Barbara Boncompagni, Salvatore Coppolino, Salvo Guercio.

Coming to theaters as a preview (list on nexodigital.it) from July 6 to 12, a few days before what would have been Carrà's eightieth birthday, born on June 18, 1943, RAFFA is an original Disney+ title produced by Fremantle and represents the exclusive opportunity to retrace on the big screen, through the voices and stories of those who knew her and with precious archive images, the life, character and artistic path of an extraordinary character who was able to enter the collective imagination with her disruptive energy.

But who is Raffaella Carrà? Who is behind the image of Italy's most famous and beloved star abroad, behind the 60 million records sold, the TV hits, the films, and the international tours? A symbol of freedom and gender equality in the 70s, the queen of public television in the 80s, and an LGBTQ+ icon in the 90s, Raffaella is a legend that transcends every cultural and generational barrier, loved by audiences around the world for over 50 years. Yet, Raffaella remains a mystery to which no one holds the key. Reserved by nature and fiercely guarded, Raffaella is a woman who fought to assert herself in a man's world, but also a woman who loved and suffered. The film traces the artist's public and private life, from her childhood in Romagna, marked by her father's abandonment, to her "cover-worthy" flirtation with Frank Sinatra, her two great loves, the regret of a missed motherhood, numerous triumphs and some failures, crises and rebirths.

RAFFA is directed by the award-winning Daniele Luchetti, known for films such as The Bag Carrier, The School, My Brother Is an Only Child, Our Life, Happy Years, Say It in My Own Words, and for the third season of My Brilliant Friend.
