A young Neapolitan fan recounted on social media the misadventure that happened to him at the end of Frosinone – Naples, the first match of the 23/24 Serie A championship was played on Saturday 19 August. The boy described the facts as follows: “At the end of the match we wait for the players to say goodbye before they leave the pitch.
Once out of the sector we head towards the parking lot, still wearing the Napoli shirt. We hadn't thought that we had to go towards the local team's curve.
The first insults begin. They come closer and order us to take off our shirts.
Surrounded by 5/6 obviously dangerous individuals I am suddenly attacked. I receive a spit in the face and immediately after a punch that completely stuns me; in the meantime, I remain alone and I no longer see my friend.
Without a shirt and with my face covered in spit, with a pain in my neck and a lip that is gradually swelling, I head towards the ambulance. My neck was causing me pain and a CT scan confirmed the contusion, they tell me to keep the collar on for 4 days.
I will have many images of this match. I don't care about the stolen shirt, I have the "N" engraved in my heart.
I will always have the affection of the nurses and above all the apologies of a boy wearing a Frosinone shirt who held out his hand to me outside the hospital after hearing what had happened. Above all, I will always have a great sense of confusion and frustration.
Because in 2023 I can't enjoy my passion.

The stadiums exude racism, ethnic and territorial. The streets surrounding them are still filled with violence.
I'm 19 years old and I would follow my colors to the ends of the earth, yet I find myself forced to give reason to the anxieties of my father who does not trust me to go around the stadiums. Because nowadays, cheering is a dangerous sport.
I hope that the clubs do everything they can to clean the stadiums from this scum that has been living there for too long. I returned home at 01:00 and I put on another blue shirt, as they can't take away my faith".
“What happened in Frosinone is very serious,” declared MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli. “This is not football but hatred and violence for their own sake.
Sport teaches respect for the opponent, the joy of sharing a passion, but for some it is still the pretext to cause disorder and violence. I hope that the authors of such a cowardly gesture are quickly identified, for them severe and certain punishments.
Anyone who thinks of committing violence under the guise of football must be removed from the stadiums. Anyone who behaves in this way must absolutely not attend sports competitions.
My full solidarity with the young Neapolitan fan who was the victim of a vile attack. No more violence in stadiums”.
Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green-Side Alliance, concluded:
