An articulated lorry for transporting tomatoes was destroyed by flames while travelling along the Ofantina state road, in the territory of the Irpino municipality of Conza della Campania. The accident occurred around seven this morning on the border with the municipality of Pescopagano, in the province of Salerno.
The driver, noticing smoke and flames coming from the trailer, managed to disconnect the tractor and save himself. The vehicle was headed to the Salerno area to load tomatoes. The teams of the Bisaccia and Lioni Fire Department and a team from the Provincial Command with a tanker were on site. The fire was put out and the area was made safe.
