Forty-eight hours of fear for Gabriela Emanuela, the 12-year-old girl who disappeared while her mother was paying at the checkout for the purchases they had made together in Bari.
An anguish that ended with the discovery of the teenager by the carabinieri in Casamassima, (the famous blue town) about twenty kilometers from the capital of Puglia. He is fine, as communicated on Facebook by Massimo Lanzilotti, mayor of Carovigno (the town where the family lives), who had asked for everyone's help for his return home.
A case on which the Bari prosecutor's office had immediately opened an investigation without indicating the crime but without excluding the hypothesis of child abduction. The girl had gone to Bari with her mother to go shopping last Thursday.
They had arrived in the city by train and from the station they took a taxi to go to Viale Unità d'Italia. They went into a shop because their mother needed passport photos, then they chose some items together and when the mother reached the cashier to pay the bill with her back to her daughter, she disappeared.
It was an instant: the run in the street, the screams to call her to him and the silence as an answer. The report was made to the Penelope association that deals with missing persons and immediately after the complaint was filed with the carabinieri.
