A seven-year-old girl was found naked and crying on the street by passersby in the Sant'Anna district of Battipaglia.
The incident is said to have occurred in the town of Salerno in recent days: a serious case of family abuse.
The little girl, found wearing only her underwear, was wandering alone in tears in the street. She reportedly told a man who stopped to help her that she had been beaten with a strap by her mother and maternal grandfather. There were obvious scratches and bruises on her body.
The Carabinieri immediately intervened on the spot. An investigation was opened by the Salerno Prosecutor's Office to clarify what happened to the little girl.
In trouble in addition to the 32-year-old mother and the maternal grandfather also the father of the child. The charges against them are of mistreatment in the family and abandonment of an incompetent.
The little girl, after being taken to the Santa Maria della Speranza hospital in Battipaglia, where following clinical tests the doctors confirmed the abuse, was temporarily entrusted to a relative, a paternal aunt.
