A family from Benevento, the legitimate assignee of an Acer (formerly IACP) apartment in via Corrado Alvaro, in Pacevecchia, returned home after a period spent away, to find their apartment occupied by a woman with a minor.
After the initial shock, the family called the police, who once they arrived on site were unable to proceed with the eviction due to the presence of the minor in the house. The female occupant, who reported herself, was reported to the Municipal Police for invasion of a public building. This was reported by several websites in the Benevento area.
“Now this family finds itself on the streets, without a roof over their heads, without a house to stay in. I contacted Acer who was not even aware of what had happened. Since the beginning of the summer I have been raising the alarm about illegal occupations, asking for the establishment of a task force of law enforcement to intervene promptly and prevent occupations.
Unfortunately, this is a phenomenon that explodes in the summer and there are many families who return from vacation to find their homes occupied. We must intervene with firmness and decision to stop this social plague. It is necessary to guarantee safety to honest citizens who find themselves on the street because they are 'guilty' of having spent a few days away from home.
The bureaucracy related to evictions must be streamlined and speeded up and, at the same time, replacement housing must be immediately found for those deprived of their most precious asset. The fight against illegal occupations has always seen me on the front line, as happened in Pizzofalcone, but the same attention dedicated to Naples must be dedicated to all the cities of our Region, to all our citizens”. This is what Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green-Side Alliance, declared.
