A ten-year-old boy was hit by a car yesterday evening in Velina di Castelnuovo Cilento, in the province of Salerno, while he was walking along regional road 267.
The little boy was first transported to the hospital in Vallo della Lucania, then he was transferred by helicopter to the Santobono pediatric hospital in Napoli where he remains hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.
The driver of the car immediately stopped to provide assistance. The Carabinieri arrived on the scene and began an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
The little boy was participating with his mother in the Parmigiana Festival, which takes place from August 14 to 18. The boy's mother was taken ill.
