According to Mayor Luigi Manzoni and Councilor for Public Education Vittorio Festa, seismic vulnerability assessments of Pozzuoli's public schools have yielded reassuring results.
Mayor Manzoni shared this information on his Facebook page. It should be noted that some school buildings (Rosini, Pisciarelli, Artiaco, Asilo Nido Troisi, V. Emanuele and Borsellino), which are located in higher risk areas, had previously undergone seismic adaptation or improvement interventions. Other institutes (Diano and Quasimodo) are affected by similar interventions.
For other school buildings (Pergolesi 1, Montenuovo, Artiaco S. Lucia, S. Martino La Gioiosa, De Filippo – Falcone 1, Troisi – Falcone 2, Borsellino Primary School, Reginelle Primary School, Oriani Childhood, Marconi, Fatale, Trincone and Lucrino), the careful checks conducted by the technicians of Directorate 4 have not revealed any safety problems in relation to earthquakes linked to the ongoing bradyseism phenomenon.
As regards the Diaz, Annecchino – Rodari and Pergolesi 2 complexes, seismic vulnerability checks have already been commissioned and the results will be made known shortly. It should also be noted that for secondary schools, the Municipality of Pozzuoli has requested the Metropolitan City Administration to carry out checks on the buildings under its jurisdiction and has made a similar request to the private managers of private institutes. The safety of schools and students is a priority that guides our administrative action.
