The procession features many representatives from the world of volunteering and associations, but few citizens from the neighborhood.
About 200 people are marching in procession, despite a light rain, along the streets of the Parco Verde in CaivanoThe procession is led by the parish priest Don Maurizio Patriciello.
Among the marchers are four local mayors, MP Francesco Borrelli, one of the initiative's initiators, European Parliament Vice President Pina Picierno, and regional Councilor for Legality Mario Morcone. Also present are former Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico, along with other M5S MPs, and Forza Italia MP Annarita Patriarca.
One of the signs displayed by citizens, committees, and associations reads: "Girls should be loved, not raped." This is a way to show solidarity and support for the two girls, aged 10 and 12, who were gang-raped.
Another sign at the head of the march read: "Stop the drug dealers, gangsters, and rapists of Parco Verde." The march, led by Father Maurizio Patriciello, started from the parish of San Paolo Apostolo and continued to the former sports center where the violence occurred.
Father Maurizio Patriciello invited Rocco Siffredi to join the march, sharing his words on the ban on porn sites for young people. He emphasized that when these words are spoken by a priest rather than a porn star, they carry a different weight.
During the demonstration organized by the Caivano civic committees, Father Maurizio Patriciello quoted a telling quote from a young man from Palermo: "Man, we were 100 dogs on one cat. I've only seen this in porn videos." He referred to the problem of children's access to pornographic content and the inability to manage their sexuality due to early exposure to such content.
