Training courses for emergency room workers to "humanize" one of the hospitals' front-line departments and reduce the risk of assaults on healthcare workers, which have become increasingly frequent in recent times. The Strategic Management of the Local Health Authority (ASL) is organizing the courses. Caserta, among the first in the Campania Region.
The courses will start at the end of October and will be dedicated to the operators of the Emergency Departments of four public hospitals in Caserta managed by the ASL, namely Aversa, Marcianise, Sessa Aurunca and Piedimonte Matese. The objectives of the courses, the health company governed by the general director Amedeo Blasotti states in a note, "start from the concept of circularity of interactions and relationships: promoting the well-being of users improves the working climate of the operator and reduces the risk of aggression.
The humanization of the Emergency Department represents, in short, the well-being of the users and, at the same time, of the workers”. Specifically, it is explained, “the objectives are the acquisition of a greater ability to manage communication, the reduction of stress of workers in dealing with communication problems, the improvement of the quality of the care relationship and the communicative exchange with the patient and with the people close to him.
The purpose of the course is, therefore, to create theoretical and practical training courses, intended for workers in critical areas with respect to the risk of aggression, in order to provide the elements to improve the quality of communication with patients and their families, through on-the-job training and the simulation of concrete cases".
