Cinecittà World, the film and TV theme park, has officially nominated the majestic Ben Hur film set for the challenge between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, which is located inside the new historical theme park Roma World, where guests can experience a day as an ancient Roman.
“The film set that best testifies to the greatness of the Roman Empire, already equipped to host tens of thousands of people, avoiding the risks associated with historical monuments to be protected, seemed to us the ideal location for a challenge with symbolic and media-related contours” says the CEO of Cinecittà World and Roma World, Stefano Cigarini.
And he adds: “We have already delivered an official invitation in this sense to the management of Zuckerberg and Musk, at the same time signaling our availability to Minister Sangiuliano and to the Presidency of the Council”.
Ben Hur is the 1959 blockbuster starring Charlton Heston, which won the most Oscars in history, with 11 statuettes. In 2016 it was remade with Morgan Freeman and Jack Houston: the Chariot Race, filmed in this large sand arena, which recalls the Circus Maximus, is one of the most legendary scenes in the history of cinema. The set, a daring creation by Italian set designers and craftsmen, extends over 16.000 square meters, like 3 standard soccer fields.
