A Licola a permanent table for monitoring environmental criticalities and developing intervention strategies for safeguarding the coastline: this is the proposal, shared by environmental associations and beach resort operators' organizations, launched by the Campi Flegrei Regional Park Authority, during a public discussion table.
"An important listening phase - underlines the president of the Park Authority, the architect Francesco Maisto - because, for the first time, we have discussed in full and analyzed the environmental criticalities of the Licola coast. Our proposal concerns a permanent table to document, through georeferenced photos, the pollution phenomena, in order to certify the damage from an economic and environmental point of view for the relative analyses and the appropriate interventions".
The permanent table will be marked by a real file to be constantly updated, a sort of 'worksite notebook' to also certify the progress of polluting phenomena and offer a contribution to identify causes and suitable methods of intervention. The role of the Park Authority is important, invested with environmental responsibilities, also as manager of the SIC, Sites of Community Interest of the Natura 2000 Network.
Important contributions to the debate during the meeting were made by Domenico Ciccarelli, president of Federbalneari Campania – who underlined the damage caused to beach resort managers by pollution -, Umberto Mercurio of the Licola Mare Association and Sergio Bravi, of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Park, who drew up a road map on the priorities for intervention on the Licola coastline.
