The official logo that will support the candidacy of the Italian cooking to Intangible Heritage of Unesco, created by the students of the Medal School of the State Printing Office and Mint, was unveiled this evening at the Archaeological Park of Pompei. The image depicts the hand of a chef 'frying' some elements of Italian cuisine together with monuments, symbols of the territory and cultural figures, creating a dynamic path like the 'hair' of an evocative comet.
The slogan is “I love Italian cuisine,” with the two “o”s in the shape of a tricolor heart. The logo was christened by the Ministers of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, the director of the Park Gabriel Zuchtriegel and the CEO of Poligrafico Francesco Soro.
Also present was the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi. The candidacy, promoted by the Italian Academy of Cuisine, the Casa Artusi Foundation and the magazine 'La cucina italiana', is supported by the Government through the Ministries of Agriculture and Culture, which launched it last March 23. The choice of the archaeological park of Pompeii is not a coincidence, where frescoes and findings offer some of the oldest evidence of the history of Italian cuisine, and above all of its traditions and culture. The outcome of the candidacy should arrive in 2025.
