“Professor Fabrizio Pesando, a great archaeologist and scholar of the history of Pompeii, professor of classical archaeology at the University of Naples 'L'Orientale', has passed away. Known for his research in the field of ancient domestic buildings, he directed archaeological excavations and fundamental research, not only in Pompeii, but also in Sperlonga, Alba Fucens, and on the Adriatic coast”.
Thus in a note the Ministry of Culture, which recalls "the many scientific collaborations with museums and archaeological parks, including the setting up of the Antiquarium of Pompeii. Until the end in the Marche, where he lived, he worked for the protection and enhancement of the Archaeological Park of Cupra Marittima (AP), of which he was director and to which he was dedicating his last research work".
