A few dozen seconds of delay and yet another femicide was not avoided. In fact, one of the residents of the park where the murder took place chased the killer, who was wearing black pants and a black shirt, with a dark fisherman's hat. While fleeing on a scooter, however, the man lost his cap, which was found and confiscated by the military.
“We were down in the garage to check on the work in progress in the building when we heard heart-rending screams, we thought it was an argument, after which the screams became even more heart-rending and at that point we decided to go and see. The scene we found ourselves facing was terrible”.
This is what a resident of the apartment building complex says – in a testimony collected on site – Piano di Sorrento where the body of a 56-year-old woman was found dumped in the trunk of the car.
“We ran,” the woman continues, reconstructing the following moments, “and as we were going up the last ramp we asked: who’s there? At that point a voice told us to hurry. When we arrived we saw something terrifying.
There was a slipper on the ground
This woman stabbed inside the hood of the car. There was a slipper on the ground, she had her face covered perhaps in an attempt to defend herself, it was terrible. The person who called us said he heard screams and when he entered the garage he saw the body but did not see who did it.
Instead, a lady in the building opposite saw a man running out, dressed in black, trousers and a black long-sleeved shirt, with a fisherman's hat, a dagger in his blood-stained hand as he ran."
“At that point,” the woman continues her testimony, “the husband of the woman who had looked out took his motorbike to chase him but lost track of him. Continuing his search, however, he found the hat on the ground, in the San Liborio area. The hat was recovered by the Carabinieri. In the meantime, we called the police and the ambulance, we thought she was still alive, but we soon realised that this was not the case”.
