The 60-year-old driver who collided with the motorcycle carrying 24-year-old Emanuele Morra on Thursday evening, resulting in his death, is under investigation for vehicular homicide.

It happened in Barra between via Volpicella and the intersection with via Comunale dell'Oliva. Morra was riding his Moto Morini X-Cape when a Fiat Punto driven by a 60-year-old man entered the same lane, causing a collision.

The impact was very violent: the young man's motorcycle hit the right rear side of the car. Morra lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a street lamp.

He died instantly and the rescue efforts of a 118 team that arrived on the scene shortly after were of no avail. The Carabinieri and the local police of Napoli who carried out the surveys subjected the driver of the car to the necessary tests to establish whether he was fit to drive at the time of the impact.

In the meantime, the motorbike and car have been seized, the body of the unfortunate 24-year-old has been taken to the Policlinico for an autopsy and the police are analyzing the images from the public video surveillance system but also from private cameras to obtain useful elements for the investigation.
