“There are no two without three, by will of the Campania Region, of President De Luca, of Scabec. It is a festival born with four events, now there are 13 and it has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, it has various sponsors and is supported by the Municipality of Capri and Anacapri”.
So said Geppy Gleijeses, artistic director of the third edition of the Capri International Festival 'Il Canto delle Sirene', on the sidelines of the press conference to present the event at Palazzo Santa Lucia with the governor of Campania Vincenzo De Luca.
The festival organized by the Capri International Festival Association is an event planned and financed by the Campania Region (POC 2014-2020) through Scabec, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the participation of the Municipalities of Capri and Anacapri and the collaboration of the Regional Museum Directorate of Campania and the Certosa di San Giacomo. From this year the festival is supported by American Express.
From September 13th to 24th, a program characterized by contaminations between genres such as theater, music, photography and cinema will be staged, which will accompany the public in the late summer evenings. “Seeing Capri under a cultural dimension – continues Gleijeses – that it is not only the presence of Jennifer Lopez or Victoria Beckham is fundamental. This is a festival that celebrates culture, the only, or the largest and most articulated, festival of the arts, of live entertainment that takes place in Capri”.
The Festival will open on September 13th at 18:30 pm at the Archi del Chiostro Piccolo of the Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri with a photographic exhibition dedicated to Franco Zeffirelli on the occasion of the Centenary of his birth: 'I divi e le dive di Zeffirelli' in collaboration with the Zeffirelli Foundation. In this third edition of the Festival, the Titina de Filippo award will be established, one of the greatest actresses of the 900th century, the female element of the great triad that, with Eduardo and Peppino, revolutionized the Italian theater of the last century, and the Luigi de Filippo award, actor, director and author of the highest level, the last of the De Filippos to leave the stage of life and of the great theater.
To close the festival, on Sunday 24 September at 21pm at the Terrazza della Canzone del Mare (Marina Piccola), Capri, Ramin Bahrami and Danilo Rea will perform in the concert 'Bach in the moonlight'.
