Pep Guardiola has been named UEFA Coach of the Year for 2022/23.
On the sidelines of the draw for the groups of the next Champions League, the Manchester City coach, fresh from last season's 'treble' - Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League - received the award, beating out competition from Luciano Spalletti, Italian champion with Napoli, and Simone Inzaghi, who led Inter to win the Coppa Italia and the Champions League final, which they then lost to the Citizens.
Among the women, the award went to Sarina Wiegman, coach of the England team that reached the finals at the last World Cup.
The “UEFA Footballer of the Year” award for 2022/23 goes to Erling Haaland. On the sidelines of the draw for the groups of the next Champions League, the award went to the Norwegian striker of Manchester City, who beat the competition of his teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi.
Among the women, instead, Aitana Bonmatí was awarded, who first dragged Barcelona to win the Champions League and then Spain to the World Cup.
