Cava de Tirreni. A large fire broke out this afternoon on Mount Pertuso in Cava de Tirreni, in the Sant'Arcangelo district.
On site for the extinguishing operations are the operators of the regional civil protection and those of the municipality of Cava who are coordinating the operations.
The Municipality's civil protection has set up two fire-fighting tanks with 19 litres of water, in the Breccelle area and in the area of the north curve of the Simonetta Lamberti stadium.
The containment and extinguishing operations of the fire are coordinated by the Dos (directors of extinguishing operations) of the Campania Region) who are evaluating the morphology of the territory to understand with which means to intervene. The use of aircraft is not excluded given that the fire developed in an impervious area.
The situation is worrying as the flames could spread quickly and get closer to the town centre of the Sant'Arcangelo hamlet.
