At Palazzo Santa Lucia, seat of the Campania Region, a meeting called by the governor Vincenzo De Luca to address the concrete problems that emerged from the dramatic events of the Parco Verde di Caivano, with the violence against two young girls, and to set up a program of interventions for the Municipality and the territory.
The Region announced this in a note in which it explains that the meeting was attended by the vice-prefect of Naples Stefania Rodà, the parish priest Maurizio Patriciello, the school directors, for the Municipality of Caivano the prefectural sub-commissioner, the Observatory of Psychologists, the regional councilors Loredana Raia, Bruna Fiola, Paola Raia, Carmine Mocerino, to evaluate all aspects of the situation.
First of all, the Region explains, issues related to the priority problem were examined in depth: that of security on the territory, essential for developing any project.
And then the issues related to the world of school, social services, urban redevelopment programs. Regarding the condition of the vandalized and abandoned sports center, site of the violence of recent days, the Region has communicated its willingness to carry out the renovation work and also to ensure the direct management of the sports and cultural activities that can be developed in the structure, serving first and foremost the children of Parco Verde.
We will work on work issues, setting up an ad hoc desk for relations with businesses, on professional training and we will continue our commitment to the “Scuola Viva” program for which the school principals present expressed great appreciation for the training activities and the opportunities for meeting with families that the program allows with the schools also opening in the afternoon.
The commitment for the presence of psychologists, for the non-reduction of schools and the protection, in particular, of an institute located in the Parco Verde will be defined in the next few days. All participants expressed the hope that on the Caivano issue, all authorities will make concrete and important commitments for the redevelopment of the neighborhood and the development of the city.
The Region recalled the commitments made in recent years, also carrying out a substitute work with respect to other institutions, taking charge of problems not under its jurisdiction such as security, school and social policies. The governor of Campania Vincenzo De Luca will be at Parco Verde tomorrow on the occasion of the visit of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
