Starting tomorrow, Wednesday 23 August, the Municipality of Maiori will start the 'extremely urgent' interventions to secure the slope that overlooks the state road 163 'Amalfitana' in the section affected by the fire of last August 12, in the Capo D'Orso area.
Anas reports this in a note. The activities, for a total amount of approximately 350 thousand euros financed with funds from the Civil Engineering Department and the Regional Civil Protection, will last 45 days and will concern, in detail: the inspection and cleaning of the slope affected by the fire in the part closest to the road; the cutting of plants, including tall ones, affected by the fire and not recoverable; the 'dislodging' of unstable blocks in precarious conditions of equilibrium and the positioning of rockfall barriers on the lower slope according to the feasibility of the intervention area.
To allow the works to be carried out in complete safety, starting tomorrow the SS163 Amalfitana will be temporarily closed in the section between km 39,300 and km 39,600 in the time slot between 8:00 and 16:00. From 16:00 to 8:00, transit will be permitted in alternating one-way traffic regulated by traffic lights. The methods and management of the interventions were agreed upon in the meeting held at the Municipality of Maiori with all the interested bodies.
