An autopsy will determine the cause of death of 23-year-old Mariarosa Turturiello, who died suddenly of an illness while working at the Baccanalia Hospital in San Gregorio Magno, in the province of Salerno.
The tragedy occurred last night before the first of five evenings of celebration of the food and wine event held every year in San Gregorio Magno and which attracts visitors from all over the region.
The young woman, originally from Ricigliano and a graduate of Unisannio, was working in one of the typical cellars of the town when she was struck down by a sudden illness. Despite attempts to help the young woman, there was nothing that could be done. An ambulance from Humanitas arrived at the scene of the tragedy, but there was nothing that could be done for the 23-year-old.
The death, as far as we know, was due to natural causes. The organizers of the event, as a sign of mourning and respect for the tragedy that occurred, have canceled the first evening.
