“At 16:00 PM on Sunday, the neighbors warned us that the shutters of the house were open. We returned home and our house was in disarray.
A fury had thrown all our stuff out of the furniture and rummaged everywhere. In addition to the damage to the windows they took away the gold and the food processor. They then moved on to the neighbors where the loot was more consistent.
We are disoriented in the face of a phenomenon, that of apartment burglaries, which is rapidly expanding in our area. We no longer feel safe. There are no controls, near the Giugliano subway you never see patrols, it's a no man's land".
This is the bitter outburst that the tenants of Melito, robbed in broad daylight, had with the deputy Borrelli.
“A spotlight must be turned on the increase in apartment thefts in the area behind the Giugliano metro, an area belonging to both the municipality of Melito and Giugliano; to bring justice to the citizens and restore their tranquility.
The residents feel abandoned, they complain about the lack of any form of protection against the crime that is spreading. The gang that is destroying the area must be dismantled as soon as possible, the images from the video surveillance cameras must be viewed to flush out the criminals”.
This was stated by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of the Green Alliance – Left to whom the citizens of Melito have asked for help.
