Naples, citizens report new damage to Mappatella Beach after the filming of Sorrentino's movie "Palmetta disappeared from the rocks, fountain never restored and garbage everywhere". Borrelli (AVS): "Special protection service needed".
New inspection by the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli at the beach in front of Rotonda Diaz, known to all as Mappatella Beach. Borrelli was immediately approached by some citizens who reported new damage after the last shooting of the film by Paolo Sorrentino.
The palm tree that once stood between the rocks has disappeared and the public fountain has never been repaired.
“Once again I ask that Naples and its citizens be respected. The characteristic palm tree that stood between the rocks of the seafront has been cut down, no one knows why.
I find it hard to believe that someone could have uprooted a palm tree from the rocks on the seafront without anyone noticing.
While the public fountain that had been installed on the beach is still down. According to citizens, all this would have happened following the presence on the Neapolitan seafront of the set of the new film by Paolo Sorrentino.
Furthermore, the cliff is full of waste of all kinds in every corner, waste that ends up in the sea and contributes to the pollution of the coast.
It is clear that there is a need to establish a special service for the protection of our coastline and our free beaches. We cannot allow one of the most important resources of our city to be reduced in this way, mistreated by everyone. This is what was declared by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of Alleanza Verdi-Sinistra.
