The clearing operations of the municipal housing Avellino illegally occupied will be held starting next autumn.

At the same time, social services will have to take measures to protect those in vulnerable situations. This is what emerged from the meeting of the Committee for Order and Security, chaired by the prefect of Avellino, Paola Spena.

The mayor of Avellino, Gianluca Festa, attended the meeting and pledged to ensure that those entitled to occupy the vacated homes immediately, as well as to take all necessary measures to prevent future illegal occupations.

The prefect also called the attention of the municipal administration of Avellino to include the housing owned by Acer (formerly Iacp) in the monitoring of illegal building.

Recently, during a demonstration of the State Police in Pietrastornina, in the province of Avellino, the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, had recommended to the Prefects to fight and prevent illegal occupations in order to restore legality, following the directive issued by the Viminale last month.

During the Committee meeting, the commitment of the police to monitor the “movida” was confirmed, which has so far led to the identification of 1.868 people, 95 of whom have criminal records, and the control of over a thousand vehicles.
