An inter-force operation is underway in Castel Volturno, in the province of Caserta, where 230 law enforcement units are engaged in controlling individuals under house arrest in the municipality.
“This is an important operation to reaffirm and consolidate the presence of the State in a very difficult territory, marked for too many years by phenomena of illegality and degradation,” declared the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi.
The head of the Ministry of the Interior expressed his appreciation for the inter-force operation underway in Castel Volturno, in the province of Caserta, where 230 units of the police force are engaged in controlling all the numerous individuals under house arrest in the municipality.
A topic addressed a few days ago during a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, chaired by the Minister of the Interior in Castel Volturno on August 7th.
At the same time, specific “high impact” services were also created, extending to the territory of the municipality of Mondragone and the Domitian coast.
“It is our duty to listen to local communities, to the needs they express and to provide prompt responses to complex situations that cause concern and social alarm.
The important results of the operation conducted today are proof of all this and at the same time testify to the effectiveness of the action carried out every day by the judiciary and police forces to affirm, even in the territories where the criminal presence is strongest, the values of legality and to guarantee ever better conditions of safety for our citizens.
Security and legality that represent the indispensable prerequisites to support territorial autonomies along the paths they have undertaken for the redevelopment and enhancement of places rich in beauty and opportunities, too long neglected" underlined the minister.
In particular, with activities still in progress, the following are found:
– 180 individuals subjected to restrictive/limiting measures on personal freedom and preventive measures, and domiciled in the Municipality of Castel Volturno, were checked, of which 3 were not found at home;
– 1.644 people identified within the “high impact” services;
– 11 people reported to the judicial authorities;
– 1 person arrested;
– 7 personal searches and 4 house searches were carried out;
– 588 vehicles checked, of which 1 was seized and numerous fines issued for violation of the Highway Code;
– 17 public establishments checked, for 1 of which immediate closure was ordered;
– numerous doses of narcotics (heroin, cocaine and marijuana) seized
The activities, planned in agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere during specific meetings at the Prefecture of Caserta, began on the evening of August 23 and are conducted under the technical-operational coordination of the Police Headquarters of the capital.
