“This morning I formalized a request for an 'ad horas' meeting with the Minister of Civil Protection, Nello Musumeci: it is the firm intention of this municipal administration to further involve the central government on the particular situation of bradyseism”.
The mayor of Pozzuoli, Gigi Manzoni, in light of the seismic phenomena of the last few days which, according to experts, are still part of a normal phase of bradyseismic crisis. Manzoni underlined that the actions implemented so far by the Phlegraean Municipality "have been shared and positively evaluated also by the General Directorate of the Regional Civil Protection".
"We want, to protect our fellow citizens - Manzoni said - to adopt every further measure of prevention and mitigation of risk. In particular, the city of Pozzuoli needs ad hoc provisions and specific and appropriate allocations of resources, to be allocated as a priority to the verification activity and possible adaptation of all buildings, including privately owned ones, for which it is not possible to intervene with funds from the municipal budget".
