Firefighters have rescued the speleologist who was trapped in the Falco cave in Corleto Monforte in the province of Salerno at a depth of 130 meters. The woman was transported to the hospital.
The girl slipped yesterday evening at a depth of about 130 meters, causing trauma to a lower limb. On site, in addition to the technicians of the Speleological Rescue of Campania, teams from Puglia, Lazio, Abruzzo, Umbria, Marche, Emilia Romagna and Sicily also intervened.
The rescue operations were coordinated by the firefighters. Due to the particular morphology of the cave, the Speleological Rescue disobstruction teams were also activated. A team composed of technicians from Umbria and Sicily widened the narrowest parts of the cave to allow the stretcher to pass easily.
