Ignoring the most basic rules regarding animal husbandry, a thirty-seven year old from Acerra, in the province of Naples, had created on a piece of land used by him, an area of about 1000 metres in the locality of Ischitella, in the municipality of San Felice a Cancello, in the province of Caserta, an illegal kennel.
Inside, yesterday afternoon, the Carabinieri of the local station intervened together with veterinary personnel from the ASL of Caserta and found, in precarious health conditions, 13 pitbulls, of which 5 were puppies and only two with the required microchip for registration and identification in the canine registry.
The adult dogs had been blocked with a steel chain only 2 meters long. The animals were immediately entrusted to the care of the ASL veterinarians who are taking care of the administrative procedures relating to them. The manager of the breeding farm, however, was accompanied to the barracks and reported at liberty. He will have to answer for mistreatment and abandonment of animals.
