The Carabinieri of the Sant'Antonio Abate station together with those of the Puglia Hunters Helicopter Group arrested 60-year-old Gioacchino Fontanella red-handed.
He was illegally in possession of a stolen .36 caliber rifle and 157 cartridges of various calibers.
The weapon was hidden in a sheet, near a small shed, on a piece of land used by him. In the same place, in a portable refrigerator, the bullets were piled up.
Fontanella, is the cousin of the local clan leader, Catello Fontanella known as “Il biondono”. In the 1988s he owes his criminal fame to his ability to use weapons and in particular rifles. It is no coincidence that he was alongside the rebel boss Umberto Mario Imparato (killed in the early 1991s in Monte Coppola by the police) in the clash with the D'Alessandro clan that between 100 and XNUMX left over XNUMX people dead in the Stabia area.
Gioacchino Fontanella had recently been released after several years in prison.
