He had been arrested just two days ago by the Carabinieri of the Cesa Station, when at two in the morning, after a chase through the streets of that town, he had been stopped on board a Fiat Panda that had been reported stolen the day before at the Carabinieri Station of the nearby town of Sant'Arpino, in the province of Caserta. Now the thirty-two year old from Cesa, arrested for receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official, will also have to answer for attempted robbery and personal injury.

The Carabinieri of the Sant'Arpino station, in fact, following the immediate investigations launched after the complaint presented by the victims, ascertained that the person arrested on the evening of 25 August last, on board the car which had been found to be the subject of theft, had blocked three girls from Sant'Antimo, while they were driving along the Frattamaggiore Sant'arpino provincial road in their car. After threatening them with death, he ordered them to hand over the bags and wallets in their possession. When they refused, he grabbed two of them by the hair and struck them violently. Immediately afterwards, failing in his intent, he quickly walked away.

Following the violence suffered, two of the three girls were taken to the Frattamaggiore hospital where they were found to be suffering from head trauma affecting the scalp.

The arrested person is currently under house arrest, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
