Good luck: “A unique project, I hope it can be replicated in neighboring municipalities.”
Over 92 thousand tiles for a work that symbolizes and tells the Gleaner, Sapri, its culture, its history: the first was inaugurated yesterday, during an evening of great emotions digital mosaic “Incanto d'amore”, created by the Catania artist Alice Valenti and placed at the Port, almost at the entrance to the Apprezzami l'asino path, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea.
A work 4 meters high and 5 meters wide that represents the first piece of the “Sapri smART city” project to bring beauty to the suburbs and offer more services to citizens, born from an idea by Salvatore Pepe, CEO Graffiti for Smart City, who created “Smartwall”, digital walls made up of biobased tiles equipped with technology that connects to smartphones and allows you to have information on the city's points of interest, pay for parking, separate waste, use Wi-Fi connection and XNUMXG technology, but also share information with the use of artificial intelligence.
“In my work I wanted to think of the precise moment in which the Gleaner, bent over her work in the fields, turns her gaze away from her harvest to turn it towards the horizon where Pisacane's ship arrives. – explained the Artist Alice Valenti – The image is also a tribute to the 900th century futurists, to the masters of movement. A dynamic and at the same time poetic image. I have underlined the enchantment, from fatigue to love”.
The Vice Governor of the Campania Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola, was present at the ribbon cutting. "It's really an interesting project. Combining art, communication with the enhancement and knowledge of the territory is an important undertaking. Here in Sapri we will have several examples of artistic applications, from murals to streets, which will be the gateway to knowledge of this city. It's an innovative thing that I hope can be replicated in neighboring municipalities, to create a network of communities with the same language and model. The Campania Region is there."
The presentation of the project took place in the suggestive setting of the entrance to the “Apprezzami l'asino” trail, in the presence of Vice President Bonavitacola, of the municipal administration of Sapri, of the artist Alice Valenti, of Salvatore Pepe, Ceo Graffiti for Smart City, moderated by the journalist Maria Rosaria Sica.

The Port is the point of arrival but also of departure for the most beautiful path in the area. It is the first place where we wanted to pay attention. But the project will see other interventions, there is much more to tell and show in Sapri, we will make it speak through technology”.
Also giving an important artistic contribution to the Sapri smART City project will be the international artist, originally from Sapri, Angelo Accardi.
The information and news, from those of daily use to those of tourism, will be inserted as the other installations are completed and will tell the story of a city in its most authentic beauty.
