The GIP at the Court of Benevento, Dr. Gelsomina Palmieri, has ordered the release from prison of the well-known criminal Mark Iovino, 57 years old, from Montesarchio, defended by lawyer Vittorio Fucci and lawyer Cosimo Servodio.
The GIP revoked the house arrest that had been granted to Iovino in July 2022 in place of the pre-trial detention in prison to which he had been subjected on March 28, 2022, following an order of pre-trial detention in prison issued by the GIP at the Court of Benevento for aggravated drug dealing in relation to events that occurred in 2020.
Furthermore, on the occasion of the execution of the aforementioned order, Iovino was found in the alleged act of the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing of 206 grams of cocaine, from which it would have been possible to obtain approximately 600 single doses, as well as possession of two pistols, one of which with the serial number erased and the result of receiving stolen goods, in addition to several dozen rounds of ammunition.
For this further fact, following the arrest in flagrante delicto, a second prison custody order was issued against Iovino, later replaced with house arrest and subsequently with release.
As you may recall, the weapons and drugs were kept in a space created in the wall of his home in Montesarchio, under the exclusive control of Iovino.
It should be remembered that Iovino has numerous criminal records, several of which are related to drug-related crimes. He is also accused in an important proceeding for criminal association aimed at drug trafficking with several criminals from the lower Caserta area, including the boss Gennaro Morgillo.
