According to Elizabeth Diller, "architecture is what exists between the skin of one man and that of another man." This reading, transferred to dance, makes the performance build architecturally by exploring different spaces. A new experience in which places are transformed, contradicting the conventions that regulate their use to explore alternative ways of inhabiting them.

This is the vision of Ra.ID Festivals 2023, the interregional contemporary dance festival, created with the support of the Municipality of Solofra and the recognition of the MiC, which, by connecting choreography, body, space, light and architecture, has managed to bring together, between the Monumental Cloister of S. Chiara and Palazzo Ducale Orsini in Solofra (AV), eleven companies on stage with 14 performances, including national and international productions, special projects and proposals of young authorial dance.

After the ribbon cutting on August 26, the festival continues on Friday September 1 at the Chiostro di S. Chiara in via Regina Margherita with the lecture performance “La conoscenza della non conoscenza” by and with Adriana Borriello, born in Avellino and graduated from Maurice Béjart’s Mudra in Brussels.

In the alternation between verb and body, sliding, hopping, bouncing continuously from word to movement, from movement to word and from literal description to poetic evocation, the thread of the discourse unravels. In the company of dancers Donatella Morrone and Ilenia Romano, the trio shares this game with the audience, making explicit its own rules and its own tools, which, in the implementation, reveal themselves each time to be the same, different, new, beyond and within the rules that govern it.

The following day, September 2, the Balletto di Roma, 63 years of production activity, in Italy and abroad, aimed at preserving the repertoire and renewing it, through the support of choreographic creativity and the maintenance of the technical and interpretative level of the dancers.

The dance group “Premiere”, a show by Andrea Costanzo Martin that celebrates the pleasure of dancing without ulterior motives. It is a ritual that puts the body and the desire to move at the center of the discussion. Without taking itself too seriously. An invitation to lay down your weapons and let yourself be enchanted.
