A humorous dialogue between man and woman that draws on the most famous "spots" of the Neapolitan repertoire and beyond, to produce a moment of theatre/song poised between irony and the picture of the social change of women in the Thirties. As Lalla Esposito e Massimo Masiello in “Sfogliatelle and other love stories”, they will open the XV edition of MEDITERRANEAN DIALOGUES, among the most important cultural festivals in Italy for the promotion of the culture of local traditions which since 1996 has found its definitive destination in Palinuro, a suggestive port on the Cilento coast.
The value of the proposals artists selected by Artistic Director Antonello Mercurio and organizational choices rightly place him among the majority important Italian festivals, simultaneously encouraging the increase of a quality tourism in the area.
The itineraries/paths of the MEDITERRANEAN DIALOGUES are identified as stages, narratively connected, characterized by unifying themes of tourist attraction, from culture, to naturalism, to food and wine, which give a planning sense to the entire route, which unfolds in a linear, reticular or spiral way, involving territories of Land and Sea with homogeneous characteristics capable of involving the entire local tourist chain.
The unifying element of the systematisation of the peculiarities of the Municipalities in partnership is the Journey to the Madonna del Monte Sacro through ancient traditions, rites and legends in the naturalistic and landscape beauties of one of the most beautiful and highest mountains (1.705 metres above sea level) in the Campania.
The pilgrimage itinerary to the Sacred Mount which unites all the municipalities of Cilento and extends to the municipalities of Basilicata and Calabria, has millenary origins, (the foundation of the Christian sanctuary, on the pre-existing pagan site, dates back to the 10th or 11th century by Italo-Greek Basilian monks who settled in Cilento at the time of the Lombards) constituting a point of reference and strengthening of the territorial identity, expanding the exchange of knowledge between residents and visitors, which allow for the consolidation of forms of public/private cooperation, which have favoured the institutional recognition of the itineraries.
