The place of wonders: the evenings of I Venerdì di Ercolano have concluded. The Park offers a visit to the Ancient Theater from September 5th.

Summer 2023 at the Ercolano Archaeological Park continues to offer wonderful opportunities for knowledge and discovery to an increasingly numerous and interested public. The cycle of I Venerdì di Ercolano, night-time guided tours enriched with artistic lighting and theatrical performances, ended on August 25 with a series of sold outs. To meet the public's demand for this year, the Park staff increased the number of available places, which however promptly sold out night after night, further confirming that the format represents the flagship offer of the Vesuvian summer.

In the 6 evening openings, which covered the months of July and August, 2509 visitors were able to appreciate the charm of visiting the illuminated Park and the theatrical performances of Teatri 35, recording a sold out for each evening, except for one event interrupted due to bad weather.

From the customer satisfaction analysis it is clear that visitors are mainly from Southern Italy, over half of them had already visited the Ercolano Park to demonstrate the interest that the site arouses in the loyalty bonds that it creates, the total expressed a vote between 9 and 10 for the professionalism of organization and reception, as well as for the visit route and the layout. Many enthusiasts have also expressed appreciation with enthusiastic comments both at the appropriate feedback stations, and on the social pages of the Park, which become a real shared archive of memories and emotions.

“I am sure that this year too, through the special visit and the story inspired by the testimonies coming directly from the houses and buildings, we have achieved the goal of communicating with the passion that distinguishes all the staff of the Park, scientific discoveries and historical data of great importance.– declares the Director of the Sirano Park – the 2023 edition of I Venerdì was focused on food, the spaces connected to it, the diet of the ancients, but also the ways in which food was prepared, cooked and consumed. The testimonies that the archaeological site of Ercolano has given us allow us to have a unique experience in the world.

But the cultural offering of the Park does not end here. In fact, once the evening walks are over, the Ancient Theatre reopens, thus offering a further opportunity both for local tourism and for visitors from all over who flock to the Campania region in these months. It is an invitation to combine the exploration of the outdoor site with the emotion of the underground visit of the Ancient Theatre”.

The openings of the Ancient Theatre of the Archaeological Park of Ercolano will start on September 5th, a journey through time through the eighteenth-century tunnels, in an underground path that transports you back through the centuries.

For the months of September, October and November on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with 6 shifts per day (3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon with two of them in English) starting from 9.30 am until 16.30 pm, you can live a real exploratory experience equipped with helmet, torch and cape in an ideal journey through time you will find yourself catapulted, in different eras, over 20 meters underground of the city to identify with an ancient spectator who sat on the different steps or wear the clothes of the travelers of the Grand Tour or even the clothes of the citizens who found refuge in this place during the bombings of the Second World War.

Sunday 3 September #domenicalmuseo, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture with free openings of state sites, we also give our visitors an appointment at the next September meetings: The European Heritage Days with the Ozi di Ercole!
