The Communications Regulatory Authority has issued numerous precautionary orders disabling access to 45 pirate sites that were illegally broadcasting matches from the first two days of the Italian football championships. Serie A e Serie B, unduly exploiting contents protected by copyright, also following the numerous requests received from Dazn, as the owner of the rights to broadcast championship matches. This was announced by Agcom, which continues its activity to combat the illegal offer of live sports content.
The activity of the authority, the note states, will continue and will be further strengthened in light of the recent provisions introduced by law no. 93 of 14 July 2023, no. 93. To this end, on the basis of the amendments to the regulation adopted last July, the technical table that will evaluate the technical and operational requirements of the platform has been convened for 7 September, in collaboration with the Acn - National Cybersecurity Agency.
Thanks to the work of the table, Agcom continues, the full operability of the changes made to the regulation will be ensured, which will allow the so-called “dynamic injunctions” and to disable access to content disseminated in violation of copyright within the first thirty minutes of the broadcast of the sporting event.
