Amalfi Municipality cracks down on illegal holiday homes. In recent weeks, thanks to a task force involving officers from the Municipal Police Command, headed by Dr. Agnese Martingano, and personnel from the Economic and Financial sector, headed by Dr. Emiliano Lombardo, five homes transformed without permission into accommodation facilities have been discovered.
Three of which were only in Amalfi center, while the other two were identified in peripheral areas of the municipal territory. The completely illegal holiday homes and therefore not registered in the registry of properties intended for non-hotel hospitality, at the time of the checks carried out by the Amalfi municipal police officers, were occupied by tourists, many of whom were foreigners.
The investigation into dwellings designated without a permit for tourist accommodation was conducted through a series of cross-checks carried out in conjunction with the SUAP of the Municipality of Amalfi, headed by the engineer.

The municipal police and municipal offices are currently examining other cases of homes being converted into holiday homes without permits, and further investigations are underway.
Furthermore, each affected activity will be referred to other competent Authorities for further investigations.
