The ship Amerigo Vespucci, for the first time in history, arrived in the Caribbean port of Cartagena de Indias.
Waiting for the mooring of the Unit at the dock was the Italian Ambassador to Bogota Giancarlo Maria Curcio.
The visit of the Vespucci is part of the celebrations for the bicentenary of the founding of the Armada de Colombia which, with the motto 'Protegemos el azul de la bandera' (let's protect the blue of the flag, a reference to the blue band of the Colombian flag which represents the ocean), welcomed the crew and students on board.
A unique opportunity to tell the great story of a sailing ship that the whole world envies us, a source of national pride and an ambassador of Italian excellence, together with the dreams and aspirations of many young people who have chosen to dedicate their future to our country and the sea.
The training ship Amerigo Vespucci, which left Genoa on July 1st and then continued on to Monaco, Marseille, Las Palmas, Praia (Cape Verde), Santo Domingo, Cartagena, Port of Spain, will arrive in Fortaleza, Brazil between October 4th and 8th.
A television crew is on board to tell this epic journey, through life on board and the emotions of the crew, collecting every day the most significant moments of the experience of the cadets, senior officers and the ship's command.
The core of the filming will be about the Vespucci ship, from the smallest hidden details to the most spectacular images shot with professional drones: everything that contributed to making it famous as “the most beautiful ship in the world”.
In every country the ship will touch, it will encounter stories of Italian pride: entrepreneurs, artists, innovators and dreamers who will show a country that speaks the language of the future and tradition throughout the world.
